Difficult days…

Apologies to all who follow my blog for the lack of writing of late. No excuse available for much of the time away, but now am in that awful place we all have to cope with having just lost my wonderful dearest mother to heaven on Monday past (20th August 2012).

She was 85-1/2 and had suffered with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)after having smoked heavily for 30+ years of her life.   While we knew her time was getting shorter with every passing day, we somehow still felt she would be here many years ahead yet, as she was in superb form right up until getting her final chest infection just over a fortnight ago.

She unfortunately didn’t complain of the right symptoms, so we were unaware of how seriously ill she actually was, & thus time was wasted getitng her into hospital, and once in, she deteriorated very rapidly despite all the treatment she was getitng.  We were told last Thursday that she was unlikely to recover and on Friday preparations were started for her impending demise.

Having never prayed with her at any point in her life, I thankfully had opportunity during her last 2 days to do so, & to read lots of scripture to her.  She had made a statement of faith in her youth but never progressed from that point, yet I have to believe that it was enough.  Certain portions of scripture give the impression that really nothing more is needed:

“Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”  Act 16:30-31

Forward to the past……

Sometimes you just have to marvel at how mankind truly never does learn anything from history, but especially remote history, and more especially again, history which it seems to not even accept as ever happening (because the Bible says it’s so). But more and more recently, I really have come to the conclusion that scripture ever more reveals just how true it is, as the world races to embrace so many concepts and ideologies that were held by a distant civilisation and one not even that remote from our own – and that’s that of ancient Rome & later Greece. Although if truth be told I think mankind is actually trying to model itself on even earlier cultures which have been even more detailed through scripture such as those who lived in Sodom & Gomorrah.

2012 – it’s not the Mayan calendar you need to worry about…(Pt 2)

**Please see my earlier post on the same topic from last year.**

For the past 2 years or more, the world has been somewhat fixated on 2012,  as they’ve presumed the ending of the Mayan calendar means the end of the world.   However, many historians have proven how the Mayan calendar only ends in 2012 because the Mayans figured it was as far a date into the future they needed to concern themselves with in the presumption that others after them would continue on the calendar (which of course never happened).  It’s a bit like the early computers which only had dates pre-2000 & which everyone figured equally somehow meant a similar fate to the world when they rolled over into the New Year.

Is God schizophrenic….

Following on from watching a TV programme “Tsunami- Where was God?” some time ago, I got to thinking about how the presenter had talked to those in other faiths (primarily Hinduism, Islam & Buddhism) using the generic term “God” in his conversations with them, asking questions about whether they felt angry with “God”.   The glaring obvious error he was making was in assuming that they worshipped the same God he himself supposedly did in being a somewhat lapsed Catholic.

This is a fundamental error too many make in the world today whether through ignorance or design.   Whether the world likes to know it or hear it, there is only ONE God – and His name is Jehovah.   And the reason I can stand on that statement is not through arrogance but rather revelation.   There is only one God who has not only created everything and told us about it in extensive terms (both physical e.g. creation & written i.e. the Bible), there is only one God who has revealed Himself to the world in human form i.e. Jesus, and there is only one God Who has provided a reason for and an answer to the age old problem of man’s sin/evil, through Jesus’ redemptive work on the cross, and there is only one God who has provided the surety of heaven for those who are willing to accept their sinfulness, repent, and submit to Him and His Will for their lives.

The gods of other religions are false and glaringly so much of the time.   The god of Islam is a god of war not peace and promotes fear, deception, and angst amongst most of his followers who have no peace of anything much nor any surety of what will happen to them when they die.   Their religion of “peace” is a facade, a veneer which got overlaid on the faith after 9/11 in a means to appease the West temporarily and to promote the idea that muslims weren’t seeking trouble.   However, the years since have shown that while there may indeed be many peaceful muslims their religion is certainly not one promoting peace with a plethora of verses that provoke followers to kill Jews & Christians wherever they may find them.   Deception and fear are twin cohorts in this faith that uses them when it suits to force people to submit.   And if they don’t – well the edge of the sword will maybe help them but if not, they can be swiftly despatched without concern.  Again, I say – this is NOT the God of the Bible Who is being followed in any sense of the word.   Indeed the glaring obvious difference is that the God of the Bible has a Son – Jesus – who is the Saviour of the World, and I contend that that fact stands whether both Jews & Muslims deny its truth.

“Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.  By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: ‘To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.’  Isa 45:22-23

The race to embrace the AntiChrist’s system…

I forever marvel at how those who think they are so smart in the world today are so utterly ignorant of the repercussions of their supposedly intelligent decisions.   I equally marvel at how so many have been exposed to the concept of the forthcoming AntiChrist and the system in which he dominates the world leading it ultimately to spiritual death and doom, yet they seem to be oblivious to it when determining how they live their lives or what they accept as truth etc.

Make no mistake about it – all of those things outlined in The Revelation (of Jesus Christ) will absolutely come to pass – just because we can’t fully interpret the actual manner for some events to occur, some are very obvious to even those who can just about read English and have no knowledge in the least about biblical concepts.

Perhaps a couple of examples will aid you in seeing this for yourselves:

1 – Apparently Bill Gates thinks every child under 5 should be automatically stuck on some global computer generated vaccine program which would “remind” all parents to ensure they got their kids vaccinated etc.   While I suspect some overworked mothers may figure that would be a really useful “app” on their mobile phone,  I doubt too many would really stop to look at the bigger and much more dangerous issue here.   Many of those against his plans are purely disagreeing on the basis of how it’s well known that Gates is anything but interested in caring for the individual, and how this cunning plan is actually a means of cutting the population down to size – that’s certainly obvious from the few clips around on You Tube – there’s a strange paradox between what he says and what he does at times, and this time even between his stance and his statements i.e. on another video he says he wants to eradicate CO2 emissions (bit hard to do unless you obliterate the planets entire ecosystem since they generate the bulk of it!!) and one way to do it is to promote vaccines, healthcare and reproductive health services.   Yet if you really did all of those things logic would tell you that you would actually be increasing the world population not decreasing it!   Aside from that, the man’s hypocrisy is outstanding – stating he wants to promote reproductive health while openly doing everything to support abortion.

God DID allow the Holocaust…

Provocative statement you might say, but before you start all firing at me for saying it, let me run through my reasons for doing so.  Much of how you will read this post will depend on where you’re coming from in your relationship with G-d:

1:  If you are an unbeliever in G-d to start with, well you’ve a lot more problems to face than just dealing with the point I’m going to make in this post, namely, that you need to accept you are a sinner in G-d’s eyes and repent and seek His forgiveness, provided for you through the sacrifice of Yeshua (Jesus) on the Cross.

2:  If you are a believer in G-d but maybe haven’t connected to who Yeshua is or what He has done for you, you should consider spending some time attending church or listening to solid bible-based sermons about salvation and then do the same as those in # 1 above.

3:  If you are a Christian but can’t accept the statement then you need to reconsider the G-d you say you are committed to serving i.e. the G-d of scripture and not the G-d of Catholicism or the G-d of your own imagination, or whatever.

4:  Finally, if you are a Jew and particularly if you have relatives who’ve been through the Holocaust,  or you are a devoutly religious Jew, I appreciate that what I’m going to say is most likely going to offend you to some degree, but I would ask you to not have a knee-jerk reaction without considering the Truth within the statements I’m about to make.   You, above all, have a greater responsibility to ensure that you understand the nature of the G-d Who chose you as His People, and Who has led you to the point where you are now reading this article.

The complexity of creation …

The more I look at the complexity of creation the more in awe I am of our Creator God.   Evolutionists sadly refuse to contemplate Him as the ultimate Creator for many reasons, yet they are continually being faced by evidence which they refuse to accept points to even a limited view of Him – namely Intelligent Design.   However, even I in my limited knowledge and understanding can see SO many places evolution falls down in its vain attempts to overthrow God and the biggest area is DNA.   Known to be the building blocks of life scientists are only now discovering that even the “simplest” of organisms on the planet have extremely complex genetics and DNA.   Evolutionists never seem to stop and see the ultimate stupidity in holding to a view that says that time alone could create anything complex let alone the complexity of DNA required to even “start” life!!    How could even the simplest of organisms survive long enough to even somehow figure out it needs to replicate (which somewhere along the way demands intelligence of some form whether internally or externally)?   How could there ever have been a food chain of any form to keep populations in check if predators had to “evolve” and realise they had to eat certain organisms below them (what they maybe once were themselves supposedly) to survive?   If indeed it took “billions of years” for the simplest of organisms to evolve into something more complex, by that time (if they did indeed manage to figure out replication first – which requires DNA by the way), then they would have overrun the earth and probably destroyed it and themselves in the process.   While we tend to centre on mammalian evolution plants seem to get forgotten about – and given they too also have very specific DNA how could they “evolve” fast enough to protect themselves against being eaten by the lowest mammals (before they figured out they needed to eat themselves or lower species)?    Oh I know the diehards will respond that obviously not all died and those that didn’t  “evolved” further to  add those  improvements in to their DNA for the next generation, but that’s really grasping at straws IMHO.  There are more holes in their worldview than enough yet few truly take the time to investigate before just blithely holding to it because they don’t want to have anything to do with religion yet at the same time need an answer to that age-old question on “Why are we here?” or “How did life begin?”
